Where to Store Your Toothbrush that Is Safe
Posted on 7/26/2021 by Neil Starr DDS PC
How you use a toothbrush is as important as where you choose to store it. Do not place your toothbrush next to the toothbrushes of other members of your family. Instead, it should be placed separately, away from other toothbrushes, and away from the bathroom sink. The Best Place for a Toothbrush The best place for a toothbrush is a location that is well-ventilated and dry. Do not store it in any location that tends to get damp or place it near the toilet. Your toothbrush can capture small drops of spray from the toilet - a plume that is infested with unwanted bacteria. Therefore, find a storage space where your toothbrush will completely dry after use, where it cannot become contaminated. Probably, the best place to store your toothbrush is by your bed or on your bedside stand. Why You Do Not Want to Store Your Toothbrush in the Medicine Cabinet A medicine cabinet is not the best place to store a toothbrush either, as it creates a humid environment and is not well-ventilated. So, it is best to keep your toothbrush totally away from any part of the bathroom. Other Tips to Keep in Mind Besides storing your toothbrush in a well-ventilated and dry space, you should never share your toothbrush with anyone. Remember that your toothbrush should only be used by you. Sharing your toothbrush kind of defeats the purpose of even using one. Also, you do not want the head of someone else's toothbrush to touch your toothbrush's head. This can lead to cross-contamination. Again, store your toothbrush, so it has its own special space.
