What are Braces and Porcelain Veneers?

Posted on 9/19/2022 by Neil Starr DDS PC
What are Braces and Porcelain Veneers? Two of the most popular dental treatments for enhancing smiles are braces and porcelain veneers. Although they are significantly different from one another in terms of the actual treatments, both offer fantastic results for those looking for a whiter, healthier smile.

Porcelain veneers may be the most adaptive and versatile cosmetic dentistry surgery. The orthodontist instrument known as dental braces is used to gradually move and rearrange teeth over time. They are used to correct a variety of bite irregularities as well as dental misalignments. Traditional braces consist of small elastic bands attached to the brackets, stainless steel bands attached to the teeth, and archwires attached to the brackets and used to guide tooth movement.

Dental Braces

Dental braces allow users to personalize their appearance because they are available in so many different shapes, outfits, and accessories. While orthodontic therapy or dental braces are typically used to straighten teeth, veneers can help change the shape, size, and color of the teeth. Sometimes combining the two treatments is required to completely alter a patient's smile.

Significance of Braces

It is a non-invasive way to correct your smile because braces orthodontic treatment does not affect your teeth. Additionally, braces can correct issues with your bite and jaw alignment that could be harmful to your general health. Retainers are frequently worn to prevent teeth from moving back to their original positions during the brace treatment phase. You will typically need to wear a retainer nightly for several more years and at all times for several months after getting rid of your braces.

The length of the treatment program might range from one to three years, depending on the needs of each patient. Frequent visits to our clinics are required throughout the course of treatment. Call us today for more information.
